Fruit is defined as fleshy seed bearing part of plant. Under that definition, are there fruits like apple and the citrus fruit pomelo that are obvious, whereas obergine and butter nut squash are we less inclined to think of as fruit. A stalk of celery however, bears no seeds, and are whence a stem of a plant.
